InfoLinks Vs Kontera

August 28, 2008

If you're new here, you may want to subscribe to my RSS feed. Thanks for visiting!

I have been using both InfoLinks and Kontera. Some of my websites use InfoLinks and others Kontera for in-text advertising. The results have been quite similar as far as payouts are concerned.

I would like to hear from you:

  1. Do you use in-text advertising on your websites or blogs?
  2. How has the user experience been?
  3. How have the payouts been?

The Top SEO Blogs

August 26, 2008

Numeric examples of PageRanks in a small system.Image via Wikipedia

invespBlog has an excellent compilation of the best SEO blogs based on various categories:

  1. By RSS membership
  2. By number of incoming links
  3. By the number of pages posted on the blog
  4. By the ratio links to pages: since incoming links target specific pages on a blog, we will analyze which of the SEO blogs was able to attract the most links per post.
  5. Unique monthly visitors: how many visitors did the blog receive during the last month. The data provided here is captured based on unique visitor numbers from Compete.
  6. By Pages per visit: how many pages does a visitor navigate through prior to exiting the site. The data provided here is captured based on last month page per visit numbers from Compete
  7. Ratio of visitors to pages: my assumption is that sites with more pages or with pages that rank for more keywords will receive more visitors. This ratio will indicate how many visitors different site pages are able to attract.
  8. By Google page rank

Visit the blog to read the excellent compilation.

Why the buzz about Yahoo! Buzz?

August 20, 2008

Image representing Yahoo! Buzz as depicted in ...

Yahoo! Buzz opened its doors to the public yesterday and there has been no dearth of publicity that it has received from bloggers.

Many have incorrectly claimed that it is the answer to solve all your traffic needs.

For those not aware, Yahoo! Buzz is a Digg style website with one major difference. They have an Editorial staff that will choose which stories makes it to the front page, unlike Digg where an algorithm determines the same.

Yahoo! Buzz does have potential and if you write good articles, you might get some additional traffic coming your way. But do not expect it to be the answer to all your problems!

How do I integrate Yahoo! Buzz in my blog?

You can add Yahoo! Buzz buttons or simplify your life by downloading this plugin.
