SocialSpark is open for business!

June 14, 2008

If you're new here, you may want to subscribe to my RSS feed. Thanks for visiting!

SocialSpark is open for business! It is a new venture from IZEA, the same guys behind PayPerPost. You might be wondering if this is yet another paid to blog website? Yes! It is. But it aims at fixing a lot of things that PayPerPost was criticized for. For one, the following code of ethics:

  • 100% Auditable In-Post Disclosure
  • 100% Transparency
  • 100% Real Opinions
  • 100% Search Engine Friendly

I signed up for SocialSpark a long time back, but never really got the opportunity to explore the website until today. In fact, this also happens to be my first paid post using the SocialSpark system.

Unlike PayPerPost, all links are “nofollow”, hence you should not face the wrath of the search engine giants!

A page from SocialSpark is shown below:

When you bid for a particular post, and the bid is accepted by the advertiser, you get a window of 12 hours to submit the post. Blogs are ranked based on IZEAs own ranking algorithm called IZEA Rank. They do not follow Google PageRank any longer.

There are three types of opportunities available on SocialSpark:

  1. Sponsored Post: This is similar to what is available at PayPerPost. Basically, you bid for a particular opportunity and give a reason why you think you deserve to write about it. If accepted, you would need to write the blog post based on the requirements of the opportunity.
  2. Blog Sponsorship: Advertisers pay you to run ads on your blog. The advertiser pays per day the ads run on your blog.
  3. Spark: These are free opportunities that most bloggers would tend to use. A good use is to have bloggers exchange reviews of their blogs with each other.
