January 30, 2008

revolution-magazine.jpgI’ve changed the WordPress Theme here at Online Presence yet again. The theme now being used is the Revolution Magazine Theme that I won at a contest at BloggingMix.

The home page has been tweaked a bit to suit the blog a bit. I hope you like the new magazine look to the home page.

revolution-magazine.jpgEarlier in the month, I won a copy of OIOpublisher Direct, and now I’ve won a copy of the Revolution Magazine WordPress Theme worth $79.95. I guess I will have my hands full in the coming days migrating to both of them on this blog.

So watch out for a completely new look to this blog with some awesome new features in the coming weeks.

WordPress Plugin for BritePic

January 28, 2008

britepic_logo.gifAdBrite launched BritePic, a monetization service for images, last year, which enabled you to have ads being shown on images on your blog or website.

The biggest pain point was the fact that for a blog, you have to manually replace all images you have in your post with their JavaScript code to “BritePic” the image. This is just too much of an effort due to which I stopped using it completely. The code looked like:

<script>

britepic_id="id";

britepic_src="< == ENTER IMAGE URL == >";

</script>

<script src="http://www.britepic.com/britepic.js"></script>

<noscript></noscript>

So, how can its usage be simplified? What if someone comes up with a plugin that looks for images in posts, and BritePic’s them? Sounds doable doesn’t it?

I have started working on this on my own and the plugin should be launched shortly (as beta!). This will be my first WordPress plugin.

This will be a simple way to start making money from images on your blog posts.

If someone knows of a plugin that already does this, do let me know. I will not waste my time reinventing the wheel.

Review of Top 10 Web Hosting

January 25, 2008

top10-web-hosting.gifTop 10 Web Hosting provides a list of the best web hosting services. The list has been selected / reviewed for the 10 best web hosting companies. Top10WebHosting has been working with these hosting companies for more than a year and their clients are using it.

The list provides a summary of each of the hosting companies and a detailed review is available as well. The list includes a mix of Linux and Windows based hosting servers.

You can search based on feature sets as well. For instance, if you want to look for hosting providers with support for cPanel, you can do so. This makes it convenient to compare different solutions and services if you have a good idea what you are looking for.

The criteria for the ranking is clearly mentioned on their page header. Its is quoted below:

Top 10 Web Hosting Ranking criteria : Best service, Cheap Price, Quality, Performance and Features

I have been looking for a hosting provider that can provide me with unlimited domain hosting at a very reasonable price. This is for some experimental projects that I have in mind. I could easily locate a list of 10 such providers here.

All in all, a simple and neat little website that is useful for webmasters.

Paid to Surf Programs

January 24, 2008

surf.jpgI had covered bux.to in a post yesterday and another one called Hits4Pay a while back. While browsing through the bux.to forums, I came across some other similar programs:

DailyClicks

DailyClicks offers payouts that are not as competitive as bux.to. Free members are paid $0.01 for every ad they view. Free members also get $0.0050 for every referral click while upgraded members get $0.01 for every referral click.

PaidBux

PaidBux has payouts similar to bux.to free member accounts.

I’m sure there are tons of other similar sites.

If you can manage to take out about 30 minutes from your daily schedule, sign up for bux.to, DailyClicks, and PaidBux and earn some easy money. Don’t expect miracles please. These are not get-rich-quick-and-easy programs!

Paid Reviews from BuyBlogReviews

January 24, 2008

I came across a website called BuyBlogReviews which focuses on the paid blog reviews market. Advertisers looking for blog advertising can evaluate this new service. And bloggers can evaluate this service if they want to get paid blogging! The interface is simple and easy to use.

BuyBlogReviews keeps 30% as commission. A 70% earnings on the bid amount is quite good compared to other sites. Just not this, they have an affiliate program as well. A quote from their website on the affiliate program:

We pay out 15% of total money spent on first transaction of advertisers or bloggers. Like if you refer an Advertiser and if he purchases reviews worth $500, we’ll pay you $75. If you refer a Blogger and when he gets his first order we pay you 15% of the money spent.

BuyBlogReviews launched very recently and the number of advertisers and opportunities are limited right now for bloggers. Do give it a try and keep a watch on their site for new paid review opportunities.

Get paid to surf ads using bux.to

January 23, 2008

bux-to.pngbux.to seems to be quite a popular paid-to-surf ads program. The process requires you to click a link and view a website for 30 seconds to earn money. You can earn even more by referring friends. You’ll get paid $0.01 for each website you personally view and $0.01 for each website your referrals view. Payment requests can be made every day and are processed through PayPal. The minimum payout is $10.00.

What makes it even more interesting is the fact that you can buy various referral packages that can enable you to jump start your earning capability. All the referrals come with a ‘replacement guarantee’.

There are several forums where bux.to users have shown proof of payment.

An example of potential earnings for 100 active referrals (based on averages):

  • 100 referrals click 10 ads per day = $10.00
  • Your daily earnings = $10.00
  • Your weekly earnings = $70.00
  • Your monthly earnings = $300.00

Well, if you can spare 10 minutes each day on bux.to you may earn money from it, as described above. It all depends on how many referrals you can bring into your network.

What do you think? Will such programs be successful in the long run? Can users really earn significant amount from such websites?
