Shareapic: My feedback

I had written a few posts about Shareapic a while back:

Just to refresh your memory — Shareapic is a photo sharing service that pays you when people see your photographs.

My intention of evaluating Shareapic was to see if it could be a good replacement for PicasaWeb or Flickr, while at the same time getting paid for it. I tried out two different experiments:

1. Uploading personal photos: The aim here was to see if my vacation photos, family photos, etc., which I typically share with the rest of the family could be uploaded to Shareapic rather than the other two sites.

2. Uploading “most-wanted” photos: This is to do with riding the wave; basically uploading celebrity photos, controversial photos, etc.

I think the verdict is quite simple and many of you will guess it as well.

For #1, you cannot expect to make huge amount of cash. Stick to Picasa or Flickr in my opinion for this category of photographs since those sites provide a bunch of additional features and tools.

For #2, well, if you ride the wave well, you will make a fair bit of money. After all, most albums on Shareapic are of this category.

If you’ve used Shareapic, please do share your thoughts on it.

Very informative site! Just a heads up on what may not be a problem. I have accessed your site both from IE and Firefox and Firefox displays your ads correctly but on all three of my machines your ads in IE show up inline at the bottom right of the page away from the content. Keep up the good work!

    Thanks Cliff.

Regarding the page formatting issues on IE, strangely it shows up properly on my system! I guess I need to dig a little deeper to ensure it works for all. Thanks for the inputs.

Got something to say?
