A look at the Alexa Toolbar for Firefox

July 24, 2007

I had mentioned about Sparky, the Alexa Toolbar for Firefox a couple of days ago. Here is a look at it:

Sparky differentiates itself from SearchStatus by showing a graph of the traffic trend for the site.  The above image is for http://www.google.co.in/

Clicking on the “a” will show you a menu with some additional options:

A nice toolbar from Alexa, which was long overdue!

Download Sparky.

Personally I still like SearchStatus better because of the extra integration of PR and other SEO-related tools.
If you don’t want to have both of them, which one would you choose?

That’s a good question you asked!

I in fact use both of them currently, but if I had to choose only one between the two of them, I would go with SearchStatus since it has the Google PageRank shown as well.

Nice tool, but do people seriously still use Alexa? What real value does it have at all?

Well…look at it the other way…many sites which provide paid review services like PayPerPost, SponsoredReviews, etc., use Alexa to determine the popularity of your blog.

I guess that should answer its use for bloggers!

Got something to say?
