Blogs are a good source of information on blogging! But, there is an alternative source and a very good one at that — books. Yes! there are a lot of good books on blogging. What I’ve done here is to consolidate some available on Amazon. This is not a comprehensive list by all means but a good one for new bloggers wanting to learn some tricks.

Report from Day 1 regarding the quality of ads being served is simply outstanding. We all know that Google serves the best contextual advertisements and Day 1 proved so.Wish me more luck in my endeavor to make money online while spreading the word on how to do so.

• A list of well Categorized Wordpress Themes is available now. This makes it so much easier to find the free theme you’ve been looking for all this while!
• PC World has a list of 100 blogs that they love. Its an interesting collection of blogs many of which are worth bookmarking.
• ContestBlogger is a unique blog. It will provide you with a list of contests that other blogs are currently running. Ensure you subscribe to the RSS feed of this blog to stay on top of all contests.
• Google AdSense has launched rounded-corner ad units.
• DoshDosh has a list of 17 paid blogging websites. A very comprehensive list. I have been using PayPerPost, SponsoredReviews, and Blogsvertise predominantly so far.

There is a new blog service in town. Its called BlogBackupOnline. Its currently in Beta and available for free use while still in Beta. A maximum storage of 50MB is provided for taking backups.

 I guess a service like this would be very useful to avoid disasters like what I mentioned yesterday.

I’ve just upgraded this blog to run on WordPress 2.2.1. Upgrade was a smooth process and I didn’t notice any breakdowns. Let me know if you see something that is not working as expected.

On the flip side, just prior to the upgrade I noticed a few old posts where I used to split the post using “More” having completely screwed up the post. Clicking on the “Read the rest of this entry” does not bring up the rest of the content. I checked the backend MySQL database and that too seems to have it screwed. Not sure how and when this happened. Its quite sad to see a lot of posts being lost this way.

I have backups but all of them seem to have the same problem :-(
