Optimizing your Wordpress blog
May 17, 2007
For your blog to be effective in making money online, you need a regular flow of incoming traffic. For the traffic to keep coming, you need to have a blog that has a good response time, i.e., pages load quick and fast!
While researching this topic, I came across a plugin called WP-Cache. Its simple to install and use. I’ve seen performance improve quite significantly. Have it set to cache pages for 2 hrs. Many blogs claim this will handle the “Digg effect” for your blogs, if you ever make it to the front page of Digg.
Doing further research, I also came across a very well written post on the same topic at ElliottBack.com. The post covers everything from WordPress Cache, WP-Cache, Apache Optimization, and MySQL optimizations. Do read the post. Its worth the time.
